Big Brother Naija Who? Inside The Explosive Summit That Redefined Nigeria’s Creator Economy

When you think about Nigeria’s creator economy, what city comes to mind?

Let me guess — Lagos, right?

Much like New York is to finance, Lagos has earned its stripes as the unofficial capital of content, tech, and digital culture in Nigeria.

But on July 26th, 2025, something unprecedented happened — and it was historic.

Credo and E-City joined forces to host the first-ever Digital Creators Summit in Port Harcourt — and in doing so, sent a powerful message: the future of Nigeria’s creator economy isn’t limited to one city. It belongs to all of us.

Why Port Harcourt?

Why not?

We’d been quietly building relationships and learning the business landscape in Port Harcourt for months. But everything shifted during the

Credo Roadshow and Market Takeover.

What began as a campaign to empower small businesses quickly became a turning point in understanding what they really needed so we could build solutions that moved the needle. But even more eye-opening was the undeniable creative energy pulsing through the city — creators with massive talent and audiences, still figuring out how to turn their passion into profit.

Port Harcourt stopped being “just another market.” It became a creative ecosystem brimming with potential.

The roadshow showed us the foundation was there.

The Digital Creators Summit? That was us building the next floor — helping creators turn their craft into real, sustainable businesses.

What Went Down

Before we get into the day itself, let’s rewind a bit.

In the weeks leading up to the 26th, we activated across major university campuses and creator communities throughout Port Harcourt. Each touchpoint was designed to build genuine anticipation.

The numbers spoke for themselves: over 800 creators registered. More importantly? Over 400 showed up and stayed from 9 AM to well past 6 PM.

What keeps creators engaged for nearly 10 hours? Value.

We brought together key players from both the Port Harcourt and Lagos creative scenes — think Meshkey, Honey the Lioness from Cool FM, and a lineup of speakers that shared real strategies, real wins, and real failures that creators could learn from.

The Real Takeaway

Here’s what made the summit special: it didn’t just talk to creators — it talked with them.

By choosing Port Harcourt, we weren’t just picking a venue — we were making a statement. Opportunity doesn’t have a single address. Talent doesn’t live in just one or two cities.

This wasn’t just another event. It was a mirror showing creators their potential, a megaphone amplifying voices that deserved to be heard, and the beginning of a movement that puts creators first.

What Happens Next?

This summit launched something bigger — a movement that centers creators, democratizes access to opportunities, and rewrites the rules about where influence can come from in Nigeria.

If you’re a digital creator in Makurdi, Owerri, Kaduna, Benin, or anywhere else — this is for you too.

You don’t need permission to be seen.
You don’t need Lagos to be legendary.
You just need to start — and know that we’re building something with you in mind.

The next city might just be yours.
And when it is, we’ll be ready.
